STUDY 07 / Kitchens
A study in reflected light.
Inspired by a Fresh Start kitchen project: a luminous exploration of warm ivory, slender chrome details, and garden light reflected across polished surfaces.

FSFRESH STARTCONCEPT NOTES
How can a polished kitchen feel as warm as the light that moves through it?
Let reflection become the texture.
We start with the qualities that make the original kitchen memorable: long, uninterrupted cabinet lines, a warm cream palette, and light reaching deep into the room. In this study, reflections become another layer of the design. The garden appears in the stone, the pendants bring a little sparkle, and chrome draws fine lines across the ivory surfaces. The aim is a room that feels luminous without feeling cold.

FROM A REAL HOME
The starting point.
This study begins with a photograph from a Fresh Start job. We carry its ivory palette, polished surfaces, and sculptural lighting into the concept views shown here.
The project photograph is the reference. New room views and material compositions are presented as Design Concepts.
ON THE STUDIO TABLE
One warm palette. Many kinds of light.
We translate the photograph into an illustrative material palette: glossy ivory cabinetry, pale polished stone, crisp chrome, and soft linen. These are design cues, rather than a specification of the original installation.

THE ART OF CHOOSING
Every decision,
with a reason.
The island and cooking run frame a clear view toward the garden. Horizontal drawer lines steady the composition; slender pendants add a vertical rhythm without closing off the view.
Keep the warmth in the base.
Choose ivory with a gentle cream undertone instead of a stark white. In the concept, similar tones across the cabinetry and stone allow reflections to add movement without adding another pattern.
Give the shine a rhythm.
Slim chrome pulls echo the horizontal drawer lines, while the tapered pendants draw the eye upward. Repeating one metallic finish keeps the reflective details coherent.
Let the garden do the decorating.
Keep the window wall visually open and the styling restrained. Foliage and daylight bring softer shapes into a room defined by clean geometry.
