STUDY 05 / Dining spaces
A place to gather, slowly.
An intimate dining room with a sense of permanence. A generous table, soft overhead light, and a few expressive objects invite a longer conversation.

FSFRESH STARTCONCEPT NOTES
What if the room was designed around the conversation, not the occasion?
Choose fewer things, with more character.
We give the table the leading role. Walnut brings weight and warmth; the paper lantern above it does the opposite, making a large form feel almost weightless. A small, deep-red ceramic accent interrupts the neutrals. The room is imagined as a collection that can evolve, rather than a set of perfectly matching pieces.
ON THE STUDIO TABLE
One deeper note changes everything.
Walnut and pale stone establish the base. Ivory linen loosens the formality, while oxblood ceramic adds a single, deliberate point of color.

THE ART OF CHOOSING
Every decision,
with a reason.
The oval tabletop softens the route around the room. Its horizontal weight is balanced by a generous, light pendant; a low sideboard keeps the composition grounded.
Soften the gathering point.
An oval table offers a gentler outline than a hard rectangle. Its scale should still be tested against chairs, circulation, and the number of people who use the room.
Balance weight with lightness.
The timber table feels substantial. The paper pendant gives it a soft counterpoint, so the room holds presence without becoming heavy.
Leave room for a story.
A ceramic bowl, a painting, or a piece collected over time can be more personal than a fully coordinated accessory scheme. Give the important object space.
